Australia has around 121 species of land snakes. Of the 121 snake species, about 100 Australian snakes are venomous to some degree, about 25 of those pose some danger to man. Only 12 are likely to inflict a bite that could kill you. 
Australia can lay claim to at least eight of the world’s ten most venomous snakes. In the generally accepted order of deadliness these are Taipan, Tiger snake, Death adder, King brown snake, Brown snakes and Copperhead.
Snakes are often on the move in warmer months within Australia and sometimes end up in your home or even office. This can be somewhat traumatic to us and generally requires the removal of the snake.
